Lucretia idly twirled her quill in her hand as she waited quietly
she might be a slytherin, but that didnt make her stupid and she was determined to prove it
not that have to prove myself to anyone she thought to herself

Cara finished the text.
She got a needle out of her pocket. (She sewed of course!)

Post  Perpetua Lestrange on Wed Oct 29, 2008 7:16 am

Perpetua closes her book and slips a note to Lucretia it says
Spoiler:
It is so unfair that the Weasley girl's mum is teaching the class, we all know who is going to pass this year. Talk more after class I have a good idea to bring her down from her unfair advantage.

Perpetua looks up and smiles, "I am ready too Professor Weasley"

Lucretia hid the note away in her cloak and nodded once to her friend to tell her shed read it

Professor CW beamed at her class. "We are ready to start the practical part of this lesson. This girl" she pointed at Cara "has been kind enough to produce an example of what your end result should look like. What is your name dear?" she asked her. While she waited for her answer she took the needle and enlarged it by means of engorgio and suspended it in the air for all the class to see.

Perpetua accomplished the feat after several tries, a few cuss words and three broken toothpicks. She looks up and smiles at Professor Weasley.

Re: Transfiguration Classroom

"Thank you Miss Granger" she said. She glanced oddly at Perpetua...she had not handed out the toothpicks yet, and she wouldn't expect them to be something a Slytherin would have on hand. "Very good Miss....?" she said. She wasn't sure if she should award points or not. Granted, she had been the first to do it, but she wasn't sure if her haste was because of zeal to do a good job, or simply to beat the other students to it. After all, it wasn't a fair race if somebody got to start first. "One point to Slytherin for getting it done first...though nobody else really had a chance. Another point will be rewarded for the next person to do it, once I have handed out the toothpicks." She went down the aisles, giving each student a box of toothpicks; enough for this lesson and enough for practice later on on their own. "Begin....now".

Caroline couldn't help but giggle at Perpetua. But she forced her face into a serious look and focused on her toothpicks. She concentrated too hard and the first one exploded into a little poof of sawdust. Dang, she'd have to shower when class was over. She took her concentration down a notch and managed to change her her next toothpick to silver, but the shape would not change. She set it aside and took out another one. This time the shape changed, but it still remained stubbornly wooden. She looked up at the slowly revolving enlarged needle at the front of the class and fixed it in her mind, and then turned her attention back to her needle. It worked! She held up her needle triumphantly in her raised hand.

She walked around the room, watching the students progress. She turned around and was pleased to see that her daughter had a completed needle in her hand. She beamed "Very good Ca...Miss Wealsey! One point to Ravenclaw!"

Lucretia sighed as she watched the class, then forced herself to concentrate, following what she had picked up from watching
and on her first go, managed to turn the toothpick into a silver needle
she picked it up an examined it 'damnit' she muttered, there was no hole
