Hogwarts Express

As you walk into Kings Cross Station you see what seems to be a normal train station, many muggles running about. On your ticket you see "Platform 9 3/4 departure time 10:30". As you check your time you see you only have a short bit of time to find your train and get settled. As you pass the terminals you see Platform 9, and then Platform 10 nothing in between.

You do see a few others looking around oddly and an odd sort of man gathering these confused looking people. He approaches you and asks if you are looking for 9 3/4, as you nod to him he brings you into the crowd and explains that you have to be careful not to attract attention when you go through the portal.

He then shows that he can stick his hand through the wall and explains that it is just a trick so muggles do not happen upon it. All of the students look carefully around and slip through the portal in the wall, when you do you see a giant black locomotive. Parents are helping their kids find their compartment, kisses them goodbye and leaves the train...

"ALL ABOARD" the speaker booms.

Proffesor Kevin (a young, intelligent, handsome wizard) steps onto the train and looks down the hall.. numbers 287 he thought to himself. He walked down past a few compartments and found number 287. He smiled and opened it up and walking through the doorway and put his bags up on the rack then took a seat near the window. He smiled and looked at the beautiful landscape.

Makenzie rushed onto the train, almost late. She had to smile at the first years surrounding her... it seemed like a long time ago that she was a first year, getting on the train to go to Hogwart's for the first time. Now she was a professor, coming back after several years to teach Charms. She pulled her luggage into a compartment, not really paying attention to whether someone else was already in it or not.

Kevin dug deep in his bag and pulled out a small bottle. He smiled and popped the cork and took a swig. "Mmm" he said in a relaxed tone.

She turned around when she heard a noise in the compartment, then felt the need to facepalm. Of course she'd picked a compartment with someone else in it.. wow, stupidity. But at least it wasn't a student... she would have been a lot more embarrassed if it had been. She wasn't aware that other professors were going to be on the train, either. The only reason she was here was because she hadn't been able to make it out pre-start-of-school-year.

"Uh, hey." she said, sounding no more awkward than she felt.

Kevin looked at the seat next to him, "Hey!", Im Proffesor Kevin, i teach DADA and Potions at Hogwarts!" He smiled.."Are you a new student?"

She raised an eyebrow. Did she really look that young? She knew she was short for her age, but geez, she hadn't ever considered that she looked like an 11-year-old!

"Actually, I'm a new professor as well... I'm amazed that I can pass as a pre-teen." she laughed, "I'm Makenzie. I'm the Charms professor this year."

Kevin frowned.."Oh im terribly sorry, must be the whiskey!" He laughed loudly. "Dont tell the other proffesors, its not allowed here" He sighed..."Its a shame." He took another swig and put it back in his bag.

She laughed, "I'll be sure to keep that in mind. I'm not much of a drinker, but I don't mind people who are... alcohol has never been my forte, though. I can't hold more than a few glasses of firewhiskey." she said with a slightly embarrassed smile.

He laughed.."Well if you hang out with me a lot i can train you!" He winked.."So, im glad that we have more youth on the staff! All the other proffesors are old geezers!" "Its been rubbish the past few years" He sighed.

She laughed... "I'll look forward to that training. and yeah, I'm surprised to see someone else so young. Everyone I saw when I went for my meeting with the Headmaster was 50 plus. It's good to not be the odd one out."

He laughed, "Yeah, im glad you have joined us here at Hogwarts." The candy cart lady pulled up to the window and opened the door. Kevin stood and bought a few chocolate frogs and handed them to Mck..."My treat." He smiled.

She smiled and accepted the Chocolate Frogs... "Thanks." she said and ate one of them. She wasn't sure what else to make conversation about.

Kevin smiled and sat back down. "So, are you a hogwarts grad?"

"Yeah." she smiled, not being able to help but remember her days at Hogwart's. It seemed like it had been so long, even though she had graduated less than 10 years ago. "Are you?"
